                 ~Previously~

     The man that came off the raft looked dazed. "Thank you so much for saving me! I was shipwrecked and stranded. In return you can have my raft if you wish." You looked at Ludwig and he sighed.

    "Okay fine, you can help the fort. But I'm going with you." He rubbed his temples.

   "Ve~ Me too!" Feli chimed in.

   "Okay men. We have a town to save." You smirked.

You boarded the rikety old raft and looked around at the small yet sufficient quanity of supplies that the former owners had left you. You had grain, spice, medicine, and silk. Those would come in handy when you were trading later.

"Ve~ (name) are you sure this is safe?" Feli looked as if he was going to be sea-sick already.

"That's 'Captain' to you, and yes of course it's safe." You poked at the make-shift mast and it fell over. "Whoops... I can fix that." You said. Ludwig facepalmed. You picked the stick mast up and tied it back on the raft with some rope laying to one side.

"If you two are done screwing around, I'd like to get this over with." A vein on Ludwig's head bulged.

"Right. Feli, let's set sail!" You ordered. Feliciano unhooked the raft from the dock and the current began to carry you out to sea. After about an hour of sailing, Feli had barfed 3 times, and Ludwig had a migrain.

"Hey! What's that over there?" You pointed to a barrel bobbing in the water about fifty feet ahead.

"It appears to be a barrel of some sort!" Ludwig looked out from behind the hands massaging his temples.

"Well what are you waiting for? Get it up here! It might have doubloons!" You barked. Ludwig hefted the barrel onto the raft and you pried it open. Sure enough it was packed to the top with doubloons and other supplies like what you already had.

"Captain (name), there's-a no more room-a for anything else!" Feli tugged on your sleeve.

"That doesn't matter. There's an island on the horizon." Ludwig said pointing out at a sillouet of an island. When you docked you couldn't help but notice the name. 'Dragon Cove'. You rubbed your jawline. 'Now I know where I've heard that before! Gilbert had his ship made here! They're among the best ship makers in the world!' You thought.

"You two stay with the raft. I'm going to do some trading. And possibly get us a new ship." You said stepping onto the dock.

"Thank Gott! I can barely move on zhis thing!" He sighed and sat down, letting his feet hang off in the water.

"Ve~ Captain (name), Don't-a forget to look-a for the map!" Feli reminded you. You waved you hand to signal that you heard him.

The port was a good size. After trading almost all of your supplies for a decent sum of doubloons, you headed to the shipmaker's shop. On your way, you met an old man fishing. Having lived on a boat for a few years, you could see where groups of fish were. The old man wasn't sitting in the right place! No wonder he wasn't catching anything!

"Excuse me sir, I believe you'd catch many more fish if you sat here." You showed him where to sit and immediately he had a bite.

"Thank you for showing me where to sit." He said. You had an unfightable feeling so you uttered the dreaded words.

"The secret lies in the southwest." You said quietly. His eyes brightened.

"So you are a friend of Governor Ripley. I knew it wouldn't be long." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small peice of paper. He hands it to you. It was a section of a map. You thanked the man and continued on your original quest.

When you reached the shipmaker's shop you told him you wanted to buy a ship. You had enough money to buy a rather spacious ship named The Koi. It was well constructed with gorgeous red and orange sails that reminded you of a sunset. The man told you that he would have it ready for you and leave it at the dock. You nodded. You noticed a man in the corner working. You approached him hesitantly.

"Um Hello, I'm (na-I mean Captain Beilschmidt. I see you work in ship making." You said.

"Konichua. I am Kiku. Preased to meet you, if you are a captain wourld you be interrested in hiring me?" He bowed low out of respect.

"How much?" He named his price. You winced. "A little steep but I have just enough."

"Ar righty I'r meet you at the ship." You nodded and made your way back. Ludwig and Feli were inspecting the new ship when you returned. Also was the new hand.

"Ve~ Captain (name) this ship is-a wonderful!" Feli turned round and round until he fell on the deck. Ludwig facepalmed.

"Yes I must agree it is quite spacious compared to zhe old 'raft'. If you can even call it zhat." Ludwig said. You introduced the new hand.

"Men, this is Kiku. He worked in the ship industry and has a knowledge of architecture. He will be joining us." Ludwig nodded in aknowledgement but Feli on th other hand ran to embrace him. Kiku thew his arms out to stop the Italian.

"No, improper." Kiku said firmly. Feli obeyed and wandered back to Ludwig like a lost puppy. "Arso, you mentioned your name was Captain Beirschmidt. Are you in any reration to Girbert Beirschmidt?" The Japanese man inquired.

"Yes actually. He is my husband. Do you know him?" You were curious to know just how well known the Beilschmidt name was.

"He bought the biggest ship we ever made! The Pheonix Warbird. A great beauty. I drew up the prans myserf." By now you had undocked and were drfting away at a great speed. Much faster than that of the "raft". It took much of Ludwig's strength to steer the ship. Before long you saw something on the horizon. It wasn't an island, but another ship! A pirate ship! And they didn't look like they wanted to make friends...to be continued.
